Remebering....

I wanted to take this time to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. If you are like me you are traveling this weekend (or tomorrow) so be safe. As you are with friends and family pause for a moment and remeber what the season is really about to you. So what's going on???

After getting back from L.A. I have been going non-stop! Halloween, over-time at work, and now the holidays. It's been a bit crazy lately. I do plan to update as soon as I can, but it might be a while. Not much going on because I haven't really had the time to do much writing. I have a few plans for the coming year so look out.

As Decmeber comes around the corner I am working on the "Year in Review" and the "Outlook for 2008". I hope to have some intersting info in the Outlook of 2008.

I hope to have sometime later this week to post a little review of L.A. so keep checking back!

So there it is! As you can see I have a very nice mix of writing, producing, and directing. My goal from this trip is to lear more about character development and more about the inside of making a movie. (From a producer and director stand point.)

Coverage is Here for "13"!

I got the coverage report back this weekend from the pro reader. Overall, "13" is still in need of a major over haul! Now, I'm not upset about any of this. I knew going in that the script still needed a lot of work, I just didn't know where to to start. After you read something so many time, it gets a little foggy. The coverage has giving me insight that I didn't have before. The two biggest things that must be worked on is Plot and Characterization. I will be starting a major back stories for four to five charcters this week.
So to sum up, I have a lot of work to do before this can become a movie. This must be GREAT before it can become a movie!

Update on "13"

Last weekend I sent the 2nd draft for coverage. This will give me a good reading by a pro. So, I'm setting back and waiting for the feedback. Things look good (I think anyway) for moving this project forward. I hope to start the script breakdown here very soon!

Web site Update!

As you can read belwo, things are finally move a little bit more. With this I want to start working on the site. So, in the coming months be on the look out with a few site fixes. I fthere is anything you can think of to fix or add post it in the forums. I hope, really hope, that I will be online more down the road to work on the site. But of course the movie project has to come first!!

I am also working on my plans for L.A.. I hope to post them soon. Just about a month away! Whoo!!!(9-18-07)

Budget forums almost done!

Last night I finally finished the budget forums. I still have two I want to go back to add, but for the most part I'm just about ready to start making a budget for "13". Just need to get a final copy done of the script and do production boards. Okay maybe I still have a little more work than I thought.

2nd DRAFT OF "13" FINISHED!!!

It took some time but the 2nd draft of "13" has been completed. At this time I have four to five friends looking over the script. I got one back today and the over all review was GREAT! I still have some work ahead of me but the script is very close to being GREAT!!!

Just an Update...

I have been hard at work on the "13" script. What was once 83 pages has grown to 96!! I feel the script is around 65%-70% complete. (That's just the 2nd draft.) I wanted to be done tongiht with the 2nd draft, but I REALLLY want this 2nd draft to bring the script to a new, greater level. I am very close but not just yet.

I am in the process of working on some things in my own life. Budget issues and a few other things I have been putting to the side. As I look harder at LSS and moviemaking I know I MUST fix areas in my life before I can make a movie and build any kind of company. If I can't make a budget for me, how can I do one for a movie with someone else money! I will try to keep up with the outline for this project. I will be writing and working on forum for the future business. All of this is coming together, it just might take a little more time than I had plan.

I hope to update more this week. I'm still working on my plans for L.A. and a few other things. Things just take time. ;-)

Overview...

One last bit of info....

I hope in about two weeks to have a rough outline of the next two years online for all to read. I just got Jan. of '08 so I would like to get to Jan. '10 before posting it. This will be a detail overview of my plan and goals for the next two - three years as I look inot making my first feature. I hope this will give everyone a chance to see what goes into making a movie and give me a chance to write it all down!

I also plan to give a short plan for my L.A. trip in Oct. What I plan to see and what I plan to see at the Expo. I will say this about the Expo, I will be going to here more about Production and Directing this year. This is a HUGE time for me and LightSideStudios. Keep checking back! I'll try to update as much as possible!!

Site NEWS

So, I really wanted to create a new layout this year for LSS. At this time I don't see that happening.
What I do plan to do is create better links and pages for what I have. Create NEW pages like a history page to keep the front page cleaned up. I plan to change the About LightSide page to deal with more about LightSideStudios. I will add a About Me page to give a bit more info on who I am and where I've been. Other pages I am looking at is something for the Matrix short I did a few years back and maybe even a TBOS page for the movie that never made it.

I hope to make a few changes in the coming months. It will take sometime but I hope to make this site a bit easier to find things and to learn!(8-12-07)

Other BIG News....

With the logo for LightSideStudios I started to think about other needs down the road. Most of the time for the first project you will find people to invest money into a company. Now, God forbid, something was to happen the investors could take LSS way from me. Now, to solve this possible problem I will create a small Production comapny that someday will work under LSS.

Now what is the name of that company? Oh, you'll have to wait for a little while for that bit of info. haha.

I hope to create a site for it and down the road most if not all the news for "13" project will be on that site. My main focus is finishing the 2nd draft at the moment. Which by the way is moving a long NICELY!!!!!

So, keep a watch in the coming months as BIG this begin to take shape!!!

The NEW LightSideStudios Logo!

After many different ideas the banner up top is the new logo for LSS. Why do I want a logo right now? In the coming months I will be working hard to deveople a working plan to make this offical. I wanted something that I could look at that would remind me what this future comany is and could be. I will have a few "updates" on this version I'm sure of that, but for now this will be it. I plan to get a shrit made later this week to see how it looks. Can't wait!

Quick Update!

Things are going GREAT! I am about 45% into the "13" rewrite and I am SOOO HAPPY with it. Wit every change the script becomes that much better. I really do feel this could be the ONE for my first feature.

I have also been busy building the forms and budget forms that I'll need here soon too. It's been a crazy couple of weeks. I hope to have another surprise to show here soon. I think I have pinned down an awesome logo for LSS. I still have a few people to check it out beforeI show it off here. ;-)

I will also have another BIG surprise in the next couple of months. I still have work to do on it, but I'll just say it's coming along nicely!

As you can tell I have been crazy busy. I will try to keep the site updated as much as possible. And yes I still have yet had time to fix the forums. I just might have to re-do them over AGAIN!!! (Yeah, I'm not very happy about it. Someday I'll have a website master who will know what he is doing! hahaha)

Budget Forums!

Okay, not the most exciting part of movie making but it still must be done. I am working on ALL the paper work that LightSideStudios will need to get this project off the ground. This week I have done two versions of the storyboard templates. I'll have them posted soon for everyone to check out.

The biggest and hardest to make is the budget forums. I believe this will end up to be around 50-70 pages of work. This work is needed to understand what the budget will be for a movie and where all that money will be going. I did something small like this for TBOS two years ago. This one will be much bigger and detail. Click on the pics to see a sample of what I have been doing!

"13" Script Update!

I am powering through the 2nd draft of "13". I plan to be on ACT I for the next two weeks. It really needs the most work. I am happy with how things a moving. At this moment I am looking at a six to eight week focused on the 2nd draft. I will then move on to the 3rd draft and give it a nice polish!

After doing a update in the forums software I lost them. Something in the coding so it might take some time for me to figure out. IF I can't then I will once again be forced to create a whole new board. I think I can fix it, but if I can find the time.

"13" Update

After a LONG wait I have begun the 2nd draft process of "13". My projected plan is to have this script COMPLETELY finished by Oct., just in time for the Expo. I've got about a 5-6 week plan at the moment for the 2nd draft. After that I will do the polished 3rd draft, make a few copies, and bam ready for Expo 6!

The overall story has gotten good feedback. But remember this is just the 1st draft. As of right now the 2nd draft has really changed the story a bit. But I think it will make for a STRONGER story. I hope in a few months I can talk more on what the story is and get into more details. REMEMBER... this could be the FIRST feature film for LightSideStudios so things could get very intresting in the coming months. Stay tuned....

NEW UPDATE! (About time!)

I hope this will be the first of many updates to come. I have been busy this summer with work, writing, learning and just having fun! I hope to update soon about everything going on. It's been a wierd spring/early summer for me. I have been doing a LOT of cleaning and just getting better organized. When I spend two hours looking for notes on a story I know things are in bad shape. haha.. yeah its sad I know. It's just a part of grown this in to something BIGGER. So, watch the frontpage this weekend. I should have a few more updates!
